Carmichael SDA Church Bulletin
This week we continue our Jonah series with a message titled “Throw Me Into the Sea.” In Jonah 1:12, the storm doesn’t calm until Jonah admits the truth—he is the one who needs to be surrendered. It’s a reminder that storms don’t just expose the weight around us; they often expose the places in our hearts God is calling to yield.
And now here we are, just two weeks from Christmas—this preacher wondering how the Christmas story fits into a Jonah sermon. But as it turns out, Jonah points us straight to the heart of Advent. Jonah is thrown into the sea because of his disobedience; Jesus enters our storm because of His love. Jonah brings temporary calm; Jesus brings everlasting peace. Join us this Sabbath as we explore how surrender leads to peace, and how even Jonah can prepare us for Christmas.
