Carmichael SDA Church Bulletin

It’s been a bustling week with our building full of kids and teens learning about the nature of God at VBS Rainforest Falls! Kids encountered experiments, games, stories and songs that taught them God is love, our Creator, our refuge, and a safe place to belong.

We kicked off the week with a neighborhood splash party on our grassy stage area, with giant water slides, a bouncy house, yard games, watermelon and endless snow cones for all. The exciting part was meeting kids and families who never knew about our church before.

One Grandma brought her grandkids to the event, and signed them up for VBS the rest of the week. They came every single day. Last night, she told me that her grandkids had been asking for a place to learn more about God, and she had tried a few local churches, but none of them seemed right. She also said she’s been praying for a church for herself - something to help her own heart and needs. When she found us on Sunday, she said, “This right away felt like our place. It feels like we found a home.”

Carmichael, thanks for all you do to support kids and families - from financial investment to hours of volunteer work, from cheering for kids to making them feel safe in our services, and for being the kind of loving church that families feel at home in right away.

This Sabbath our program will be led entirely by children - yep, even the preachers are 12 or under. But if you think, “Well this is a good week to skip church,” I can tell you that you’re wrong! You cannot imagine the blessing you’ll get by seeing little lives already investing in the leadership of this church.

Sometimes the simplest thoughts become the most profound. Sometimes we need to remember to have faith like a child. And sometimes “a little child shall lead them” all. See you Sabbath!!
